Welcome to MountRides (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of mountrides.com and all of its mountain-biking calculators, guides, and related features (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Acceptance and Changes

By accessing or using MountRides, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which forms part of them. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use after a change means you accept the current version.

Educational Estimates, Not Manufacturer Specifications

The Service exists to give general, educational estimates. The tire-pressure, gear-ratio, suspension-sag, spoke-length, chain-length, and wheel-size calculators apply standard formulas to the numbers you enter; their results are setup starting points, not the official specifications for your specific components, and not a promise of any outcome. MountRides is not a bike shop, a component manufacturer, or a certified mechanic. For anything that affects whether your bike is safe to ride — pressures, torque values, service intervals, or the integrity of a part — rely on your component makers’ documentation and a qualified mechanic rather than this Service.

What the Service Provides

MountRides offers, free of charge:

• An MTB tire pressure calculator
• A gear ratio calculator with gear inches, development, and speed
• A suspension sag calculator
• A spoke length calculator
• A chain length calculator, and a wheel size converter
• Educational guides, a Learn section, and an illustrated Bike & Trail Museum

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

Your Responsibilities

When you use the Service, you agree to:

• Use the tools in good faith for setting up and maintaining your own bike
• Enter accurate figures, and check the weight, size, tooth-count, and hub fields before relying on a result
• Take responsibility for how your bike is set up and ridden, and confirm anything safety-related with your component makers and a qualified mechanic
• Not attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service
• Not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to infringe others’ rights

Assumption of Risk

Mountain biking carries an inherent risk of injury, and incorrect setup can cause a component to fail. You use the information on this Service at your own risk and remain solely responsible for deciding whether a given setup or repair is safe and correct. Always confirm anything that matters with your component manufacturers and a qualified mechanic over anything here, and ride within your ability and the trail’s difficulty.

No Warranty

The Service is provided “as is.” While we aim for accuracy, we make no warranties, express or implied, that calculations are error-free or fit for your particular purpose, and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MountRides and its suppliers will not be liable for any damages — including personal injury, property damage, or component failure — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damage.

Intellectual Property

The site’s original text, design, and calculator code are the property of MountRides and protected by copyright. Museum and Learn material sourced from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons remains under its original licenses. You may use the tools for personal, non-commercial purposes; you may not copy or repurpose the site’s materials for commercial use without permission.

Third-Party Links and Advertising

The Service may link to third-party sites and displays advertising through networks such as Google AdSense. We do not control or endorse third-party content, and using any linked site or advertised product is at your own risk.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, and you submit to the courts of that jurisdiction for any dispute.
